Brian Brown vs. 'young' Log Cabin prez
Log Cabin Republicans president Gregory T. Angelo is a fully grown man, not all that many years separated from National Org. for Marriage president Brian Brown. But NOM is of course in the business of belittling anyone who opposes the mission (see the recent press release calling Fred Karger "delusional," for instance), so, in a fit to question Angelo's GOP bona fides, Brown (or whoever writes his stuff) takes a moment to make a weird jab at Angelo's youth:
Abraham Lincoln the American hero who founded the GOP to battle what he called the twin "barbarisms" of slavery and polygamy. Wonder if young Angelo even has a clue about why the Republican Party came into existence. [NOM]
Oh yes, Brian, you wise oracle of conservatives values—please school "young Angelo" on what it means to be a Republican. I'm sure he'll be interested to hear how big government ideas like a Federal Marriage Amendment fit that picture.
But rather than just give my own opinion, I asked Angelo what he thinks of the comment. His pitch perfect response:
"It just so happens that I have a birthday this week and I'm flattered to see that Brian Brown thinks I'm aging well. I can't say the same for NOM's archaic positions."
Indeed.
