NOM lowers bar on 'amazing' accomplishments
Almost every day for the past several months (and sometimes two or three times a day), the anti-gay, anti-equality, pro–wrong-side-of-history organization that does business as the National Organization For Marriage has begged its supporters for cash. Claiming to have finally crossed the $500k mark, NOM is now framing the accomplishment as an "amazing" feat worthy of fireworks:

Amazing? Really? I mean, even if we take them at their word, this isn't like some big win. They asked for money and their committed allies in discrimination handed some over. That's the way political special interests work. It's not really an occasion for sky-explosives.
Although, come to think of it, the fireworks are really fitting. I mean, these pyrotechnics are literally the equivalent of burning money for the purpose of grand-but-ultimately-unreachable fantasy. What better stand-in for what NOM does with its supporters' money?
