Tony Perkins: ENDA is for 'those openly engaged in immoral and unhealthy sexual behavior'

by Jeremy Hooper

To motivate conservatives to give to the organization's political action arm, Family Research Council president Tony Perkins writes the following about why the 2014 election is critically important:

I would say that with very few exceptions, most employees are not "openly engaged" in any kind of sexual behavior during either their interview process or their standard work life. So if an employer is spending time casting moral aspersions about a current or potential worker's private sex life, I'm thinking he or she is the one who should reconsider how he or she spends the workday.

If the Tony Perkins' of the world would dedicate the same energy toward contributive performance as they do to penetrative performance, they could maybe cure cancer. Instead, they will continue to misstate what ails this nation. Sure, it might still bring in some fundraising, as the crude bashing of a vibrant population of people still warms the cockles of far too many potential financiers. Sadly, their game comes at the great expense of our national health (*not to mention the mental and physical wellbeing of more LGBT kids than I could ever count).
