Patricia Heaton didn't know about 'this homophobic guy' Bryan Fischer
After some of us questioned why a generally LGBT supportive (even if conservative) celebrity like Patricia Heaton would choose to give and interview to the most vehemently anti-LGBT talk show host in the country, the star of The Middle tweeted the following:
As I said in my initial post on the subject, I always assumed that she didn't personally make the booking. But someone on her team did—and that person should know better. Bryan Fischer is an easily Google-able personality. A press agent or assistant should have been on that one before gladly accepting a spot on any AFA Radio show, quite frankly, but especially on Bryan Fischer's show!
And ultimately the accountability does lie with the public figure, so I am glad to see her getting in front of it. Personally, I'd like to see a little more understanding of how dangerous it is for a celebrity of her stature to lend credence to a show as jaw-dropping as Fischer's. I am, however, accepting this as a good start.
