Audio: Catholic League's Bill Donohue itching to strut his stuff in NYC Pride

Of course the reality is that NYC Pride is simply teeming with straight people. In fact, I'm always touched by the thousands upon thousands of allies who turn out to celebrate LGBT Pride that need not and does not come at the exclusion of S.

But Bill Donohue is someone whose activism has always put gimmick about ten steps before fact, which is why he has this new plan::

This would not bother me in the slightest, if he really were seeking S inclusion. Go ahead and march. Have at it, big guy. Just wear comfortable shoes and breathable fabric—it's a long, hot walk.

But of course what Mr. Donohue would really be saying is "straight is better" or "straight is the only acceptable way," regardless of how he messaged it. That is what he believes and that is what he wants, unlike LGBT Irish-Americans who simply want inclusion. Personally, I still wouldn't have a problem with him marching this message, since I know my city and know that the clever masses would make a lasting mockery out of his display. But I don't expect the committee to set the precedent of allowing out and proud voices of anti-LGBT oppression and discrimination to join in this day of peace.
