RNC's 'hip Republican' seems okay with at least one same-sex marriage

by Jeremy Hooper

You've probably seen the Republican National Committee's new ads, which find D.C. based PR guy Scott Greenberg identifying as both a fan of thick glasses and the GOP. If not, here are the ads:

It was already reported that Greenberg does press for the Washington Ballet, so I'm thinking he has to be fairly socially liberal. But then I also found this shot on his website:

That's Scott and his wife with Josh and Brent, the out, open, legally married farmers, Amazing Race winners, reality TV personalities, and friends of Good As You. This foursome seems chummy; Greenberg certainly doesn't seem eager to ban their marriage.

If he is as pro-LGBT as appearances would lead me to believe, it would actually make sense that the GOP is going this direction. After all, it's only a matter of time before they have to become an LGBT-accepting party, if they want to be in the ballgame at all.
