Terrible political operation NOM acted terribly in Maine; must now pay, comply
Despite its arrogant attempts to be, the National Organization For Marriage is not, in fact, above proper compliance and protocol. NOM and its leaders learned this yet again today:
AUGUSTA –– The state ethics board voted unanimously Wednesday to impose a $50,250 fine on the nation’s leading organization opposing gay marriage, a decision that could affect how nonprofit organizations attempt to influence Maine elections.
...
The vote also means that the state will require the National Organization for Marriage to register as a ballot question committee and disclose its donors from the campaign over five years ago.

NOM, where terrible political practice and inability to win anything since the year 2012 is outpaced only by its defiance, has yet again vowed to thumb its organizational nose at today's decision. I'm confident karma has other plans.
