AFA lifts blogger's personal photo to decry Macy's support of 'sex parades;' I defy them to find any sex
To attack Macy's for supporting LGBT pride parades, the American Family Association has lifted a personal photo from a blog called Jason In Hollywood. AFA uses that photo to insist that Macy's is really supporting "sex parades"
[AFA]
But if you go to the Jason in Hollywood blog and look at his extensive photo set from the 2010 West Hollywood Pride parade, at which the above photo was taken, you will not find one shred of sex. You'll find families. You'll see costumes. You'll see people having fun on a summer afternoon. But no sex. At all.
It's bad enough that the AFA, a self-appointed "values" organization, thinks it can just take a gay man's personal photo and use it for an attack piece meant to drive their fundraising. But at the very least, they could accurately represent what they are lifting. I know that the overactive imaginations of the anti-gay groups have told them, bizarrely if not tellingly, that LGBT pride parades are essentially orgies-on-floats. The truth is that you will not find "sex parades" in any of the cities that AFA lists. What you will find are a whole lot of people, LGBT and S, celebrating a rich community's ability to rise above the self-appointed morality police's nonstop denigrations and egregious deceptions.
