Audio: NOM's Plante claims all opposition can do is 'mock' and 'call names' #March4Marriage
I'm pretty sure that the equality movement is winning and winning and winning, while the National Organization has been on a two-year roller coaster of loss. And I'm pretty sure that it's because those of us one the right side of history have made the right arguments in courts, legislatures, and at campaign time, while the pro-discrimination movement has more and more revealed how hollow and animus-driven it really is.
NOT SO! insists the National Organization For Marriage's anti-gay communications guy Chris Plante. Plante (who has said gay parents treat our kids like teacup dogs and has called on gay people "to come out of this distorted lifestyle") tells Catholic radio host Drew Mariani, a favorite of NOM's, that all his opponents know how to do is mock, name call, bully, intimidate, and harass. Oh, Christopher. The mocking is just the icing; the electoral, legal, legislative, public polling, and cultural victories are the cake. And it's delicious!
And let's be real here, C.P.: NOM's made the whole mocking game pretty darn easy for us. Has there ever even been a political organization more ripe for parody? I'm not so sure there has.
