'Old school prude' AFA president calls Michael Sam kiss 'gross,' 'immoral, unhealthy and unnatural'

by Jeremy Hooper

Tim Wildmon is a new-school tolerant who thinks gay sex is hottttttttttttttt.

Oh no, wait a minute—I got him confused with someone else. This is Tim and these are his real views:

TwildmonStraight America is scared to death of offending or potentially offending gay, lesbian and transgender people and their powerful movement. It's really embarrassing to watch. They say "Jump!" and most Americans say, "How high?" Sometimes they just say, "Ju..." and the straight people start doing jumping jacks as fast as they can to show the world they are not homophobic, which is the unforgivable sin in today's society.

An example of this was the reaction by some to Michael Sam's mouth to mouth kiss of his lover on EPSN after he was recently drafted by the St. Louis Rams. Sam, who earlier this year announced to the world he is homosexual, was a standout defensive player for the Missouri Tigers.

Sam and his boyfriend, Vito Cammisano, decided to go "in your face," both to themselves (literally) and to those watching the draft on television including millions of young boys no doubt. After first kissing without debris, Sam then decided to put some cake in his mouth and go back after Vito for some more affection.

It was gross. But then I'm an old-school prude who doesn't believe men should be having sex with other men, so that is the reaction you would expect from people like me. I believe that kind of behavior is immoral, unhealthy and unnatural. If people want to live this lifestyle, that is their choice, but this idea of forcing people who disagree with it to applaud or else be shouted down, fined by the government or lose your job has gotten way out of hand.

Tim goes on to demand that Christians must "wake up and fight back or we will lose our country." Operative word there is "our." For years, people like Tim have operated with the mistaken belief that they, the self-described "old school prudes," get to own this country and operate it how they—and only they—see fit. They have not seen the country as ours in the grander sense that encompasses the full, rich, diverse expanse of America. They have instead commanded that American must be "ours" in the self-absorbed, self-interested, myopic sense that extends to only those who fit within their extremely limited moral purview (among other demanded boxes).

Sorry, Tim, but that is not our America, and it never again will be. You will see more men kissing. You will see more gay couples engage in joyous celebrations of life's milestones. You will see us both live and publicly display what you call our "lifestyles" and that the reasonable among us call lives. This is America of 2014 and beyond—and it's amazing.

Want some cake?
