Utah's big anti-equality group admits agenda goes well beyond marriage
"Celebrate Marriage Utah" is the main group advocating against marriage equality in the state of Utah. You might remember that big winter rally that Celebrate Marriage Utah hosted at the state capitol, in tandem with the National Organization For Marriage. The state senate president and attorney general even showed up for that one.
So today, with Utah back in the news because of the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals siding with the lower court in saying that the state's marriage ban is unconstitutional, I thought it might be fun to show you that this organization that is at the forefront of advocating against us actually has no intention at stopping at just our ring fingers. That's quite obvious in this, Celebrate Marriage Utah's promotion for an upcoming "ex-gay" event:
This movement never stops at marriage. It never intended to and it never will.
If we could have been adult enough to have that conversation years ago, we might not have had such a prolonged and contrived battle with a false and anti-intellectual "protect marriage" setup. But that's the past. Moving forward, the anti-gay movement must come out and admit its obvious anti-gayness. It's not like hiding it is helping them anyway.
