Catholic mag features Catholic leader of Catholic org. that wishes to impose Catholic view onto civil marriage
Legatus is that extremely anti-gay Catholic organization with which I convinced Bob Newhart from aligning himself after I presented his team with evidence of the organization's harsh views. But while those anti-gay views might not have been suitable for a beloved comedian, they are perfect for an extremely Catholic and extremely anti-gay group like the National Organization For Marriage. Which is why its president, Brian Brown (who is himself a "Legate," as members are called), is featured in a cover story in this month's Legatus Magazine.

You can read the full piece (which also features de facto NOM staffer Salvatore Cordileone) if you want. Though the headline is really enough. "Family under Fire"?! Give me a break! There is no organization in American politics that's waging more fire against more families than the National Organization for Marriage is through its nonstop onslaught against LGBT people and our kin. The early 21st century Catholic leadership's pretense and willingness to play this deceptive game, with its flipped stakes and overextended reach, will someday be the thing of both great scandal and great regret.
