Colorado's capital city to offer same-sex marriage licenses—today!
After a judge ruled that Clerk Hillary Hall if Boulder, CO, is allowed to continue issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples, the city clerk in the state's capital city announced that she will join in the love game:
DENVER - Denver's city clerk says she will issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples despite Colorado's constitutional ban. The licenses will be available Thursday during office hours until 4:30 p.m.

The question, in Denver and statewide, is whether these marriages will be recognized while yesterday's stayed District Court ruling striking down the state's marriage ban plays out on appeal. Either way, it's fantastic to see government officials sticking their necks out for freedom. These marriages, like all same-sex marriages, will soon enough have recognition in all fifty states and under federal law, and those who stuck their necks out to make the case against delayed-and-denied justice will deserve some praise for refusing to let wrong-headed status quo trump their hearts and their spines.
