Eleven Republican US Sens. give anti-gay conservatives a taste of a near and less divisive future
This is notable, even if it's basically ceremonial:
WASHINGTON — Eleven Senate Republicans joined with all of the Democrats on Thursday night in supporting an amendment to guarantee equal Social Security and veterans benefits to married same-sex couples — even if they live in a state that does not recognize such marriages.

The eleven are Ayotte (NH), Burr (NC), Collins (ME), Corker (TN, Heller (NV), Johnson (WI), Kirk (IL), Moore Capito (WV), Murkowski (AL), Portman (OH), and Tillis (NC). They also answer to the collective name, "The-Clear-Writing-on-The-Wall Caucus"
