Keep proving animus right before SCOTUS takes up marriage case. Genius strategy, FRC. Really. I mean it. Just brilliant, guys
Derek Packard is the man who shoots most of the Family Research Council's videos and whatnots. If you look at this YouTube page, you'll see some of his handiwork.
Anyway, today FRC let him write something for its "Call 2 Fall" site. And what you get, is more animus that further proves that the FRC's case against us is really about their general distaste for happy, adjusted, self-accepting gay people ("I genuinely care about homosexuals and fear for their souls") and our families ("I believe it’s heartbreaking to force children to grow up in same sex households"), and not just this particular policy matter. Here's a snip:
Twenty one Egyptian Christians (and many others) preferred to have their heads chopped off rather than deny their faith in Christ. Meanwhile here in land of the free and the home of the brave, marriage, the fundamental witness of Christ and his church to the world, has been thoroughly adulterated, with even the President of the United States advocating for same-sex marriage, using his pen, his website and his bully pulpit to push it. But we can’t blame the president for this one. It’s been in process since before no-fault divorce which became the law in California in 1969. As one brother said recently… it’s as if we want to become Sodom and Gomorrah.
How many hours have you spent on your knees crying out to God about it? Well the Lord impressed on me recently to tell everyone that you get one last chance and then it’s time for the full “Harbinger” effect to hit America.
It’s not like people have not been praying about the marriage debacle. But since we are at the 11th hour, and we truly need a miracle for marriage to survive, perhaps we should take a minute and ask the Lord why our prayers have gone unanswered?
...
Ten Reasons I’m Asking God to Intervene to Save Marriage
1. His Word defines marriage and God’s definition of marriage is worth fighting for. Since all other means of fighting for the legal definition of marriage are exhausted, only the Lord can intervene.
2. I genuinely care about homosexuals and fear for their souls.
3. As a man of God, I believe God calls me to protect my family, my community, and my country against evil and spiritual darkness.
4. Legal Precedent – When the U.S. Courts legalize gay marriage they granting special rights to individuals, violating religious freedoms, and I believe there will be major consequences. We are already seeing the beginning of it… and it will get much worse.
5. Love – Accepting and celebrating a sinful relationship is not loving those individuals.
6. Children – I believe it’s heartbreaking to force children to grow up in same sex households. It’s a lie to teach children that the “marriage” of two men is the same as their mother and father’s marriage. Yet that is what public schools must now do regardless of how parents feel about it.
7. I believe that the biblical marriage covenant is sacred and the bedrock of a stable society.
Eph 5:25 25 For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her 26 to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. 27 He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault.
8. We are commanded to pray for our leaders. And they are about to codify a huge mistake.
I Tim 2 tells us to pray for our leaders.
9. It will take a miracle to save marriage at this point.
Isa 43:11 “I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no savior.”
10. God beckons us to bring these type of cases before him.
Isa 43 25-26 “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. Review the past for me, let us argue the matter together; state the case for your innocence.”
